Fall Reading Program!

Kenilworth Public Library is offering the following programs during the fall season..

Registration is required for all programs.

The Fall Reading Club begins on Monday, September 30.

Children’s Programs

Lap Sit for ages 0 – 24 months

Tuesdays at 10:30 – 10:50am

October 1 – November 12

Toddler Time for 2 year olds

Wednesdays, at 10:30 – 10:50am

October 2 – November 13

PJ Story Time for children ages 3 & up

Thursdays, at 6:30 – 7:00pm

October 3 – 14

Lego At The Library for children ages 4 – 12 years old

Fridays at 3:30 – 4:00pm

October 4 & 18 and November 15

Bingo For Young Children for ages 3 & up

Fridays at 3:30 – 4:00pm

October 11 &  November 8

Bingo For Readers

Friday, at 3:30-  4:00pm

Special Events:

Registration is required for all special events.

Kenilworth residents may register one week prior to each event.

Out of town residents may begin to register two days prior to each event, space permitting.

A Home Depot Workshop will be presented at the library on

Tuesday, October 1 at 3:30 – 4:30pm for ages 6 – 13.

Children and teens will have an opportunity to complete a autumn related woodworking project to take home.

A Home Depot representative will provide instruction and assistance with these projects.

Children ages 6 – 9 years old must be accompanied by an assisting adult in order to participate.


Applause Theater will present a Musical Review based on the children’s play, Matilda on Thursday, October 3 at 6:30 – 7:00pm.

This musical performance highlighting songs from Matilda, The Musical will be directed by Krystle Tomlinson.

Children ages 3 and up and their families will enjoy upbeat interactive music highlighting this famous storybook character.



The  Good Tymes String Band will be entertaining children ages 2 & up and their families at The Kenilworth Public Library on Wednesday, October 16  at 10:30am – 11:00am.

Foot tapping, knee slapping banjo music & songs for families with children of all ages featuring Raymond Dreitlein, Pete Hauptman and Jay Leipzig.

Meet Dusty The Dog and Learn Healthy Habits will entertain and educate children ages 3 and up on Thursday, October 17 at 6:30 – 7:00pm.  This program will be presented by Union County Childhood Lead Exposure Prevention and Healthy Homes Program of JFK Medical Center.

Learn How To Prepare Delicious & Healthy Halloween Snacks on

Tuesday, October 22 at 3:30 – 4:30pm for children and teens ages 6 – 13 years old.

This workshop will be presented by dietitian, Danielle D’ Elisiis from Shop Rite in Garwood.

Children ages 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate in this program.

Each participant will be able to enjoy their healthy snack at the conclusion of this workshop.

Happy and Healthy Smiles will be presented by Westfield Pediatric Dental Group for children ages 3 & up on Thursday, November 7 at 6:30 – 7:00pm.

Children will participate in an interactive program to raise awareness about the importance of good oral health.
