Winter Reading Program!


The 2018 Winter Reading Program at the Kenilworth Public Library begins Monday, January 8th and concludes on Friday, February 23rd.   Children who were previously signed up for the Fall Reading Program will automatically be registered.


Children must be registered in one of the following programs in order to participate in any other Kenilworth Public Library special event.


Mommy, Daddy & Me, a parent and child at home reading program for children ages 2 – 5.


I Can Read, a reading program for children who are just starting to read on their own from ages 6 – 8.


Club Readsalot, a reading program for children ages 9 – 12.



Registration is required for:

Lap Sit for babies ages 0 – 23 months will be held on the following Tuesdays from 10:30 – 10:50am; January 9, 16, 23 & 30 and February 6, 13 & 20.

Toddler Time for 2 year olds will be held on the following Wednesdays from 10:30 – 10:50am; January 10, 17, 24 & 31 and February 7, 14 & 21.

Stories, puppets and music just right for the youngest listeners will be introduced.

SPECIAL EVENT: Good Tymes String Band will be entertaining children ages 2 & up and their families at the Kenilworth Public Library on Wednesday, January 24 at 10:30am – 11:00am.

Foot tapping, knee slapping banjo music & songs for families with children of all agesfeaturing Raymond Dreitlein, Pete Hauptman and Jay Leipzig.

PJ Story Time for children ages 3 and up will be held on the following Thursdays from 6:30 – 7:00pm;                   January 11, 18 & 25 and February 1, 8, 15 & 22.


Lego At The Library for children ages 4 – 12 years old will be held on the following Wednesdays from                 3:30 – 4:00pm: January 12 & 26 and February 9 & 23.

Children will have an opportunity to design their own Lego creations using thousands of Lego bricks.

Lego at the Library is made possible by donations from the Walmart Local Giving Program and Jackie Fidurski. 



Bingo For Young Children will be held on the following Fridays from

3:30 – 4:00pm for children ages 3 & up:  January 19 and February 16.

Games may include A-B-C Bingo, Number Bingo and Color & Shape Bingo.

Parents must remain in the library during the program.


Bingo For Children Who Can Read will be held on Friday, February 2, 3:30 – 4:00pm in the Activity Room.

Games may include Book Bingo, USA Bingo, History Bingo & Kenilworth Bingo.

Parents do not participate in this program.
