Spring Reading Program!

Lap Sit for ages 0 to 23 months will be held on the following Tuesdays from 10:30 to 10:50 am: March 24 and 31 and April 7, 14, 21 & 28 and May 5.

Toddler Time for 2 year olds will be held on the following Wednesdays from 10:30 to 10:50 am: March 25, April 1, 8, 15 & 22 & 29 and May 6. Stories, puppets and music just right for young listeners will be introduced.

PJ Story Time for children ages 3 and up will be held on the following Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:00 pm: March 26, April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. Children are invited to wear their pajamas to this program, and bring along a stuffed animal, too.

Lego At The Library for 4 – 12 year olds will be held on the following Fridays from 3:30 to 4:00 pm: March 27, April 17 and May 1.

Lego at the Library is made possible by donations from the Walmart Local Giving Program and Jackie Fidurski.

Bingo for Young Children will be held on the following Fridays from 3:30 to 4:00pm for children ages 3 and up: April 3 and May 8. Games may include A-B-C Bingo, Number Bingo and Color & Shape Bingo. Parents must remain in the library during the program.

Bingo for Children Who Can Read will be held on the following Friday from 3:30 to 4:00pm in the Activity Room: April 24. Games may include Book Bingo, USA Bingo, History Bingo and Kenilworth Bingo. Parents do not participate in this program.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Registration is required for all special events.

Kenilworth residents may register one week prior to each event.

Out of town residents may begin to register two days prior to each event, space permitting.

St. Patrick’s Day Craft will be presented on Tuesday, March 10 (3:30 – 4:00pm) for children ages 4 – 8 years old.

Spare The Air will be held on Thursday, April 16 at 3:30 – 4:30pm for children and teens ages 9 – 14 years old. Children and teens will learn the facts about smoking and vaping. This interactive program will be presented by Union County Public Health Coordinator Lovely Randle.

We Fight Germs! will be held on Thursday, April 16 at 6:30 – 7:00pm for children ages 3 & up.

Learn about healthy habits and how to fight germs through this interactive program presented by

Union County Public Health Coordinator Lovely Randle.

Applause Theater will present a Circle Of Friends Musical Review on Thursday, April 23 at 6:30 – 7:45pm.

Circle Of Friends tells the story of seven young girls prepping for a Surprise Sleepover Birthday Party for their best friend Laura. While at the sleepover they tell their Historical American Girl Doll stories while also learning the true meaning of friendship.

This musical presentation will be directed by Krystle Tomlinson.

Children ages 3 and up and their families will enjoy upbeat interactive music highlighting the stories of the historical American Girl dolls. Children are welcome to bring their own American Girl doll to the event.

Game Design and Development on Thursday, April 30 at 3:30 – 4:30pm for children and teens ages 6 – 14 years old. Children and teens will participate in an interactive program while they learn about how various video games are designed. Professional game developer, Josh Bycer will present this program.

Bilingual Story Time and Craft will be held on Thursday, April 30 at 6:30 – 7:00pm. Children ages 3 and up will listen to the story Love Is Kind by children’s author Laura Sassi. The story will be shared in both English and Spanish. At the conclusion of this program children will participate in a craft based on the story.

Mother’s Day Craft will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 3:30 – 4:00pm for children ages 4 – 8 years old.

StoryWalk at The Library will be held on Thursday, May 7 at 3:30- 4:30pm for children ages 3 and up. StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors (weather permitting) at the same time. As you stroll around the library grounds, you will be directed to the next page in the story.

At the conclusion of the StoryWalk children will participate in a nature related craft.

The StoryWalk® concept was created by Anne Ferguson and developed in cooperation with the Kellogg Hubbard Library and the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition.

This program has been funded by The Friends of The Kenilworth Public Library.
