Spring Reading Program!


The  2017 Spring Reading Program at the Kenilworth Public Library begins Monday, March 27th  and concludes on Friday, May 12th. Children who were previously signed up for the Winter Reading Program will automatically be registered.
Children must be registered in one of the following programs in order to participate in
any other Kenilworth Public Library special event.
Mommy, Daddy & Me, a parent and child at home reading program for children
ages 2 – 5.
I Can Read, a reading program for children who are just starting to read on their own
from ages 6 – 8.
Club Readsalot, a reading program for children ages 9 – 12.
Registration is required for:
Lap Sit for babies ages 0 – 23 months will be held on the following Tuesdays from 10:30 – 10:50am;
 March 28, April 4, 11, 18 & 25 and May 2 & 9.
Movies At The Library for children ages 4 & up will be held on the following Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30pm;
March 28, April 4, 11, 18 & 25 and May 2 & 9.
Toddler Time for 2 year olds will be held on the following Wednesdays from 10:30 – 10:50am; March 29. April 5, 12, 19 & 26 and May 3 & 10. Stories, puppets and music just right for young listeners will be introduced.
Technology Program, for children and teens ages 9 – 17 will be held on the following Wednesdays from 3:30 – 4:30pm; March 29, April 5, 12, 19 & 26 and May 3 & 10.
Explore technology and Maker Culture including 3-D printing, Arduino projects and more!
 PJ Story Time for children ages 3 and up will be held on the following Thursdays from
6:30 – 7:00pm; March 30, April 6, 13, 20 & 27 and May 4 & 11.
Lego At The Library for children ages 4 – 12 years old will be held on the following Fridays from 3:30 – 4:30pm; March 31. April 21 and May 5. Children will have an opportunity to design their own Lego creations using thousands of Lego bricks. Lego at the Library is made possible by donations from the Walmart Local Giving Program and Jackie Fidurski.
Bingo For Young Children will be held on the following Fridays from 3:30 – 4:00pm for children ages 3 & up; April 7 and May 12. Games may include A-B-C Bingo, Number Bingo and Color & Shape Bingo.  Parents must remain in the library during the program.
Bingo For Children Who Can Read will be held on the following Friday from
3:30 – 4:00pm  in the Activity Room; April 28.   Games may include Book Bingo, USA Bingo, History Bingo & Kenilworth Bingo.  Parents do not participate in this program.
Learning about Alpacas will be presented at The Kenilworth Public Library on Thursday, April 27 at 6:30pm.
This 45 minute program will be presented by Colin and Joy Scott, owners of Highland Airs Alpaca Ranch.
Children ages 4 and up,  and adults will have an opportunity to meet an alpaca from the ranch, and  learn about these beautiful animals.
Registration is required.
Kenilworth residents may begin to register on Thursday, April 20.
Out of town residents may begin to register on Tuesday., April 25th, space permitting

Bubble Trouble At The Library will be held on Thursday, May 4 at 6:30 – 7:15pm.
Jeff Boyer will amaze and entertain children ages 4 & up and their families with this incredible bubble show.  Registration is required.  This program has been funded by a Wells Fargo Grant, and The Friends of the Kenilworth Public Library.  Registration begins on Thursday, April 27th for Kenilworth residents. Good Tymes String Band will be entertaining children ages 2 & up and their families at The Kenilworth Public Library on Wednesday, May 3  at 10:30am – 11:00am.
Foot tapping, knee slapping banjo music & songs for families with children of all ages
featuring Raymond Dreitlein, Pete Hauptman and Jay  Leipzig.

Join us for a Sensory Story Time which will include songs, music, movement and stories for the youngest listeners.
At the conclusion of this event, families attending will have an opportunity to learn about Early Intervention programs available in New Jersey.
Early Intervention provides services for children from birth to three with developmental delays or disabilities and their families. This week of events provides families the opportunity to experience a diverse group of family fun filled activities.
Children ages birth through 3 years old are invited to register for this event .
