Part-time: Library Page, Afternoon/Weekend – Kenilworth Public Library

The successful candidate will report to the Library Director and will work 7.5 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours available. This is a part-time position.

Hours:

  • Monday 2:30pm-5:00pm, Wednesday 2:30pm-5:00pm, Friday 2:30pm-5:00pm
  • September-May: One Saturday per month (instead of Friday) 11:00am-1:30pm

Primary duties:

  • Work under the direction of a library staff member
  • Shelve books and other materials in all sections of the library
  • Maintain order of shelved materials
  • Relocate and shift collections to optimize space
  • Create and maintain themed displays
  • Help prepare for and implement programs
  • Maintain basic knowledge of library facilities and services
  • Communicate information to the director and other staff members via email, telephone or in person
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Library Director

  • Ability to maintain a collegial work environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to remember and carry out directions
  • Ability to maintain flexible work schedule
  • Proficiency and interest in learning new skills
  • Availability to work afterschool and Saturday hours
  • Ability to obtain working papers in New Jersey

This position pays $8.44 per hour. We will accept applications until the position is filled.
