The Kenilworth Public Library will be hosting a Broadway musical concert, “Florian Schantz Jazz Combo,” on Saturday, March 16th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The Florian Schantz Jazz Combo was formed in 2012 by then 9 year old Florian Schantz.  Since then, the band has delighted audiences in hundreds of venues in the greater NYC area and in Germany.  Their musical influences are Bix Beiderbecke, Wild Bill Davison, Louis Armstrong, Muggsy Spanier, Eddie Condon, Stan Getz, Robert Maxwell, Perez Prado, Ray Conniff, and Mitch Miller.  They have played Dixieland and other traditional jazz, Broadway standards, international music, historical music, devotional, ragtime, blues, Latin, and commercial music.

The band will perform Broadway and Hollywood songs.  They have a good deal of repertoire in this genre, focusing on either the golden era of Broadway music or a mixture of classic Hollywood anthems and Broadway songs such as “Almost like Being in Love,” If I Were a Rich Man,” and “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”

Registration is required for this FREE program.    Please call the library at 908-276-2451 or visit 548 Boulevard to register for this event.
